We have finalized our approach to Pickleball at the curling club.
Pickleball will be offered to current curling club members and their families from now until the end of August. We have a couple of events booked so there will be a number of days during the summer where the courts will not be available.
The cost for pickleball will be $60 per person. Members will need to go to www.gfcurling.org, log into their accounts and register here. Any non members will need to be registered by the curler as a "group." Payment in full is required at the time of registration via a credit card that will be available at the end of the registration process. Further, we have established a minimum number of enrollees in order for this to be viable. If the minimum is not met by May 23rd, we will refund your payment and pickleball will not be offered.
We and our friends from the Grand Forks Pickleball Club will be hosting two "Introduction to Pickleball" events at the rink in April. These will run from 6:30-8pm on Tuesday April 22nd and Thursday April 24th. Each session will cost $10 per player and we are asking our current members to limit themselves to only one of the events. We will be limiting the number of attendees to 12 Grand Forks Curling Club members each night so that all enrollees will get ample opportunity to play. You can register here. We will be using these events as well as feedback to determine a path forward on this concept.
Please consider joining us for our Annual Meeting. Dinner is at 6pm and the Meeting is slated to start at 7pm. Cost is $20. Please register yourself and others here.
League playoffs for this season will be posted here as draws are created. To see the playoff schedule, click on the links below.
If you are interested in curling here in Grand Forks there are a few ways to do that.
1. You could email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and give us a little background on your experience. Let us know if you are coming to us as a single curling individual, two of you, or maybe you have a whole team interested. We will respond back with your best options and stay in contact with you to get you placed into something that we are confident will work well for you.
2. If you are inexperienced, your best first step is to register for and attend our Learn2Curl event. We will take 2 hours and go through the basics of how to curl. This event will give us a chance to meet you and go over personally a path forward to making you a curler.
3. After attending our Learn2Curl, or with a small to moderate level of experience, you could consider signing up for one of our Mini-Leagues. This is a great way to gain some no-pressure experience in playing games. It lasts a short 6 weeks. We will have experienced mentors on-site to help you get through your game. That experience isn't overwhelming and will give you a great idea as to how far you want to take curling.
4. Finally, if curling has grabbed hold of you as it has us, you will want to try to get going in one of our traditional leagues. With the growth of curling here in the USA as well as locally in Grand Forks, recent years have been pretty full around the rink. We have good news though. We have added a Thursday at 4:30 pm league that has some openings as well as a weekday morning Stick league. If you need one of our other nights, reach out via email and we will do our best.
Be sure to check out our games on our new Curling Stadium Camera System. More importantly, let your freinds and family know they can watch your games live or anytime after. Let them know they only have to go to Youtube and search for "Curling Stadium Grand Forks." They could also just follow this simple link.
